Hidden on an old roman road track - now covered in loose stone/cinders and accessible in most weathers. From the north the path is muddy for the first quarter of a mile. There is a ford from the north but there is a bridge.
Small tupperware box - log and trinkets inside.
Cache is hidden approx 10ft off the track
Grand Old Duke of York - after crossing ford from north
My GPS reading is as above and the O/S reading is 6839/9907
Apologies in advance if my 10 year old Magellan is not overly accurate. Clues should guide if co-ords out.
Some unusual happenings with this cache - I will visit tomorrow ( 23/10/05 ) to check and will post a note tomorrow night.
Someone has completely removed all trace of this cache so I had another with me which I have hidden approx 150 yds away - no point replacing in case the same offender removed again.
I have changed the co-ords above and the clue below.
This is now a slightly more difficult cache to access so that any future reprobates have to work harder if they decide to remove it again.
A bit of scrambling and brambling are involved - apologies in advance. The cache is off the same path but further away from the ford. Enter the bushes at the obvious place and then the cache is within 10 paces/crawls of the fence you reach. O/S co-ords - 6849 9901
