La ville d’Outremont a été fondée en 1875. Elle est située en partie à flanc de montagne du Mont-Royal, d’où l’expression « outre-mont ».
Plusieurs personnalités y ont habité ou y habitent encore, comme les anciens premiers ministres du Canada Pierre-Elliott Trudeau et du Québec Robert Bourassa, le premier ministre François Legault et bien d’autres.
Bien que de faible superficie, soit à peine 380 hectares, la ville compte de nombreux petits parcs. Cette multi-cache vous permettra de découvrir cinq d’entre eux.
WP1: N 45° 31.067 W 73° 36.248
Le way-point du point de départ correspond à un cénotaphe érigé à la mémoire des soldats décédés durant les deux grandes guerres.
L’indice se trouve sur le cénotaphe.
Comptez le nombre de soldats faisant partie de l’aviation (air force) tués durant la guerre de 1939-1945. Multipliez ce nombre par 82 pour obtenir A. Le second way-point est obtenu par la formule ci-dessous.

Au second way-point, vous trouverez deux plaques portant chacune deux dates. Prenez le chiffre de l’année la plus ancienne sur la plaque de droite. Ce chiffre sera utilisé comme B dans la formule ci-dessous.
WP3 : N45°29.215 + B W73°38.161 – B
Vous trouverez au troisième way-point un monument érigé à la mémoire d'un ancien maire d'Outremont. Trouvez l'année à laquelle ce personnage a été élu à la mairie, ce qui vous donnera C dans la formule suivante.
WP4 : N45°28.988 + C W73°38.778 – C
Le prochain indice est juste devant vous. Le chiffre que vous voyez sera le D dans l’équation pour atteindre le WP5, et enfin la cache.

The first waypoint corresponds to a cenotaph built to remember the soldiers who died during the two world wars.
The clue is on the cenotaph.
Count the number of soldiers from the air force (aviation) who died during the 1939-1945 war. Multiply this number by 82 to obtain A. The second way-point will be calculated with the following formula:

At the second waypoint, you will find two plaques, each bearing two dates. Take the number of the year of the oldest date on the right hand plaque, and use it as B in the following formula:

You will find at the third waypoint a monument honoring a former mayor of Outremont. Find the year when this man has been elected mayor, which becomes C in the next formula:

The next clue is just in front of you. The number you see will be the D in the equation to reach WP5, and finally the cache.
While you are in this park you can, if you wish, go to N45°26.795 + C W73°40.953 - C (note that this last point is NOT part of the multicache). However, if you reach that point, you will be standing just between two magnificent ginkgo biloba, that can be recognised, during summer, by their peculiar leaves.
