Canal-side; can be steep in places as going "up" the canal from recommended parking. Buggy-friendly. Deep water so take care with smaller children.
This is a multi-part cache along the Stourbridge Canal, starting at The Redhouse Cone Museum (worth a visit as it's free to get in & there's a lovely tea-room on site).
See www.redhousecone.co.uk for more info.
Car parking at N52 28.546 / W002 09.412
Co-ords given are for the first clue.
To find co-ords to next clue:
1. In what year did the shed become a boatyard?
Answer = ABCD : N52 28.mno
m = A+D / n = (B+C)/(A+D) / o = A
2. In what year did diesel engines replace steam engines?
Answer = EFGH : W002 09.xyz
x = E / y = G+H / z = F-H
At next clue, to find cache co-ords:
1. In what year did construction of the Stourbridge Canal begin?
Answer = ABCD : N52 28.mno
m = A+B / n = B-C / o = (B+C)-D
2. In what year did construction of the Stourbridge Canal end?
Answer = EFGH : W002 08.xyz
x = E+F / y = (F+G)-H / z = (H-G)+E
It should be obvious where to leave the path to find the cache (without taking your life in your hands!), but beware some light(-ish!) tree cover at the cache location.
The cache itself is a tupperware container in a black bin-liner.
As with all canal walks, deep water is ever-present, so please take care of smaller children.
