Dalesman: As this cache has been in need of attention for some time, with no update from the CO, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Geocache Description:

The sleepy Timble made the headline in a strange story of
witchcraft in 1622 when the scholar and poet Edward Fairfax,
son of Sir Thomas Fairfax, of Denton, Otley claimed that his daughters,
Helen and Elizabeth, had fallen under the spell of a coven of witches at
Timble. The Fairfaxes lived only a stone's throw away at Newhall Farm,
which now lies deep below the surface of Swinsty Reservoir.
Edward Fairfax said his daughters- Elizabeth was 15 at the time- had
fallen to the floor on numerous occasions in a deep trance. The "witches"
of Timble were tried twice at York Assizes and acquitted- despite Fairfax's
considerable influence. The Timble women were staunchly supported by their
fellow parishioners and by the local vicar, the Rev. Nicholas Smithson, whose
testimony was vital. Experts today believe the girls were suffering from some type of mystery illness.

I found this paragraph in a local walking book. so I have placed a cache box on the bank of Swinsty Reservoir.
