Timpat: This cache enjoyed a 6-yr run so we decided to archive it to make room for four new regular caches in this wonderful park. Look for the Tim's 16th series coming soon. Thanks to all who sought and logged our puzzle cache over the years.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located within the Crossings of Colonie Park not far from the Albany Int Airport. The Park is a 130-acre community park that features a five-acre lake, boulevard style park drive, playground, and a network of pedestrian trails.

This cache is completely within Crossings of Colonie Park located in Colonie, New York. The IP (initial point) listed above will put you at the starting point of your quest and has a parking area very close at hand. There is NO physical cache at this point. This is considered Part 1.

The coordinates will take you to an art object that serves a daily function. On it there are inscribed words and numerals. You need to write down the words to aid in some computing needed to derive the coordinates for the next point, which IS a cache component. (The words are repeated on another side but you will only need to work with one set of this text.)

The cache location for Part 2 is: N. 42° 42.A B C , W. 073 47.X Y Z.

You will solve the following puzzle to determine the values of the missing decimal minutes (.000) of Lat. and Lon. to fill in the missing coordinate numbers for the next cache:

For the Latitude part: Count the total number of the letters I contained in the string of text. Insert this in place of the A. Count the total number of the letters R contained in the string of text. Insert this in place of the B. Count the total number of the letters S contained in the string of text. Insert this in place of the C.

Now on to the Longitude part: X Y Z. For this, ADD .393’ to the Lon. decimal minutes you have for the IP (Part 1), and then SUBTRACT the number of 4-letter words contained in the string of text found on the art object (on one side as before) to the new Lon. You will now have the coordinates to proceed to Part 2.

The paved pedestrian trails will take you very near each of the cache components and this a kid friendly cache. (An adult that is not vertically challenged would be needed to help on one part). Bring the bikes as we did, or walk along with the dog. Roller blades would work too although you will have to venture briefly off the path into the woods. The final is a 50 cal ammo can.
