Bzerk Park+Rec Orphans #02: Ohlone Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This is a plastic vial (2" diam x 4" 1.75" tall), covered in camouflage duct tape, and hidden in one of Berkeley's cache-less parks. B.Y.O. Pen.

This is the second of what I hope to be a long series of hides that I place in Berkeley parks that don't have caches (and are eligible for caches). I wanted to do some more hides; Berkeley has many parks without caches... seemed like a good match. I am seeing a lot of Berkeley's smaller parks, and noticing things that I might not have seen otherwise; perhaps you hunters will appreciate this, too. Ohlone Park is one of Berkeley's many parks, running east-west along the beginning of the "Ohlone Greenway" (a mixed-use trail running from Hearst and Milvia in downtown Berkeley to El Cerrito Del Norte BART). It has a ball courts/fields, an off-leash dog park (although dog owners appear to have adopted more areas for off-leash use), and some really interesting climbing structures not too far east of the cache.

Berkeley parks are open from 6am to 10pm. Please represent responsible Geocaching, and respect the rules of the park.

The cache itself is a plastic vial 2" diam by 4" 1.75" tall. It is hidden in the semi-open; we'll see if the camouflage tape is as powerful magic as Uncle WalruZ says it is. ;-7 Small trade items only -- and please put the lid back on securely! Thanx.

You may find parking for some of this series to be somewhat challenging. I encourage you to find out how bikeable/walkable/transit-able (most of) Berkeley's parks can be. (The ones that are hardest to transit/walk to have the easiest parking; funny how that works out. %-} )

FTF: Motogrrl! Congratulations!
