Geocache Description:

Located in West End Park

The cache container is the size of an old tool box or lunch pal. It is green in color and is made out of metal. The original contents are some plastic army figurines, four army cars, a paratrooper, a plastic gun, the Purple Heart TB, and "Lorena" the White Jeep. Yes, you guessed it, its a themed cache, so please leave anything that has to deal with the army or our armed forces. And as usual, trade fair.

The park is a very nice park, with both tennis and basketball courts, softball field and a large field usually with soccer played on it. I actually played here as a kid in my CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) soccer team. I had some fun playing here, so I hope you can too!! Being a park, during the day, muggles may be present.

The nearby armory is home to the Army and Air National Guard for the Binghamton area. It has ties back to being associated with soldiers in the Civil War. Besides the Civil War, this division of National Guard has served in both World Wars. More info on the Armory at (visit link)

I find it very interesting that there is so much history right next door to us. Sometimes, it takes alittle spark to get people to realize the importance of local history.
