Geocache Description:

A Multi-Cache around Mary's Lake

This is my first Multi-Cache! Finding each multi-cache will take you on a site seeing touring around Mary's Lake. Also located near Mary's Lake is Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Prairie Park Nature Center at 2730 SW Harper in southeast Lawrence encompasses 72 acres of woods, prairie and wetlands. The education building was built in 1999 and is the center of activity for the center's nature programs for the public, schools and local groups. There is a free kid's program every Sunday.

The paved walking trails lead to and around the center's five-acre fishing spot, Mary's Lake. The center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, and is closed Mondays. Entrance is free to the public. The trails are open later, a sign posted states 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Most of the trails are paved, but you will need to take dirt trails some of the time. This cache has three stages, the second stage shares the same hiding place as a Letterbox. Mary's Lake has two nice Letterboxes hidden here too. You can check them out at www.letterboxing.org. Please do not take anything from the letterbox or the multi-stages. The goodies can be found in the final cache. The First Stage is a plastic DeCon container. The Second Stage is also a DeCon container. Final Stage is a 1 gallon Rubbermaid container. All stages have official GeoCaching.com stickers on them!

Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department asks that I add the following statement:

"This cache is located within Prairie Park, a part of the Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department park system. For general information please call 785-832-7920 or visit our website at www.lprd.org. All parks rules and regulations apply"
