Geocache Description:

The stars have been used for navigation for centuries. This cache can only be found by following the "stars".

TAKE NOTE THIS CACHE WILL BE ARCHIVED THE DAY OF THE VERNAL EQUINOX 2006. AFTER THAT DAY THERE WILL AGAIN BE MORE DAY THAN NIGHT. LOOK FOR A NEW STARLIGHT CACHE TO BE CREATED AT THE AUTUMNAL EQUINOX.

Now that there is more night than day I decided to create a cache for the darkness. This cache can ONLY be found at night if it is daylight you will not see the "stars".
Start at the listed coordinates, stand under the lightpost and use your flashlight to let the stars guide you. Rules of this cache are simple.
First, take a good flashlight a 2 D-cell flashlight at least. Small flashlights may not receive the guidance of the "stars".
Second, hold your flashlight at eye level, if you hold it low in front of you the "stars" may be too dim to see, let your flashlight look around, the stars may be high, low, or on either side of the path. Scan the entire area.
Third, don't leave the path to try to touch the "stars". If you stand on the path abeam the last "star" that you could see you should see the next "star" guiding you along, if you don't see the next star move the direction you where going for a few yards and look again. When you see two "stars" together (meaning within two inches of each other)walk directly to them and look around for the three "stars" together. The cache location will be where you find three "stars" together.
The cache itself is a small plastic container that is camoed. Please be sure to get the lid on tight. There is a log and room for some small trade items. the cache is within two feet of the three "stars". The last caution is that this area is closed after 11:00 pm and does not open until 6:00 am

The mtnbirders were kind enough to point out a few flaws in my listing of this cache. I have increased the terrain difficulty to 1.5 due to the length of the cache. From the best possible parking the walk will be about 1.5 miles total from parking to the cache and back to your car.(1.5 miles total NOT 3 miles total). The terrain is fairly level with a few hills all on a paved path until within a few hundred feet of the cache. The distance could make this cache hard for those who can not take a walk that is that long. The terrain is not hard but the last few hundred feet would be almost impossible for wheelchairs. I intentionally did not list any parking coordinates for this cache because the beginning can be accessed from many directions and I thought it would add a little anticipation to the cache. If you would like coordinates for the best parking please email me. The best parking is "on street" on a fairly quite street and is always available. Thank you to the mtnbirders for their input.
