“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just a year and a half, the quest has grown to over three hundred thirty caches hidden in thirty-three Indiana counties, and two Ohio counties, and the hiders have grown to sixteen cacher teams, most of which of which are comprised of Dogs and their Humans. Over 700 cacher teams have logged over 8,000 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #361

"Mud Lake Chapel"

Welcome to Horton Chapel or a.k.a Mud Lake Chapel located seven miles south of Rochester and a short distance from Nyona Lake in Liberty Township, Fulton County, Indiana. The chapel is one of the oldest standing church buildings located in Fulton County. Located on the grounds is a small cemetery with close to 150 burials with a few dating back to the late 1840’s.



Buried in the cemetery is Nancy Jameson Holcome who was a Real Daughter of the American Revolution. Her father was Thomas Jameson, an American Revolution War veteran, who married Hannah Taggart in 1764 and had nine children.



Here’s a photo of the military marker for Claude C. Marquis. He was a Private in Battery C. of the 40th Field Artillery and served during the World War I.

FIND LOGS ON THIS CACHE THAT INDICATE NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE!
