Look for a clue in the following little-known secret.

How to Win the Lottery

Your goal is to pick the winning 6 of 49 numbers. Begin by saving twoonies. For our friends from other countries, the Canadian twoonie is a $2 coin made of nickel, aluminum and bronze, measuring 1.8 mm thick. Each coin will buy 1 ticket.

Your stack of twoonies will exceed 25 km high when your odds of winning is a certainty (ie. 1:1). On the grand day that you buy your tickets, make sure that none are identical.

The beauty of this method is that there's no need to wait for the official draw. You've won the jackpot!!! Celebrate early if you like! Bragging rights for your win has only set you back $28M to win the $3M prize. (Cross your fingers that no one else has won.)

If you forgot to buy just one ticket and that set of numbers won, don't feel bad. You're only one of millions of people who gamble and lose every day. In 2007/08, our government lottery made $2billion profit. Imagine if all that money had been handed directly to the needy and the homeless, instead of general government coffers.

Here's a test of your gambling instincts. Do you have the nerve to bet on the jackpot when your odds are 1:2 (as in a coin toss)? If so, how high is your pile of twoonies? That's the magic distance you can use to solve this puzzle.
