Geocache Description:

This double cache, a Travel Bug Lodge and Gift Shop, is in Coldstream Park, off of Kalamalka Lake Road in Coldstream, a small municipality near Vernon. Coldstream Park is a little hard to find as it is hidden away – almost in a hidey-hole so to speak! Finding it might be harder than finding the cache.

If the main gate is closed you will have to park on Kalamalka Lake Road and walk about 250-300m down a picturesque lane to the Lodge. Sorry, there is no shuttle service. If you are able to drive into the park, the Lodge is only about 90m away from the parking.

This is #2 of a 4 part series – Hidden Gems in Coldstream. There will be a clue inside the logbook. After you collect all four clues, you will be able to find the bonus cache once it it is hid.

Coldstream Hideaway Lodge offers luxury accommodation in a thatched cottage for travel bugs needing a break from all their travel -- in a relaxing and cosy environment. The cottage is very well appointed, and tastefully decorated. Travel bugs are provided with security, privacy and intimacy in a rustic setting! As the cottage is small, however, a maximum of two small guests at a time can comfortably be registered for a stay.

Once you go through the Lodge’s gateway, the thatched cottage is tucked away on the left hand side. On the opposite side to the right, is the Hideaway’s Gift Shop, a peanut butter jar, where cachers can trade their swag. There’s a great view of the creek, where the Kokanee spawn in early October, and which is about 6m away.

We ask that you leave the premises as you find them, making sure that both the Gift Shop (on far right) and thatched cottage (far left) are sitting upright and not visible to passing traffic.

If you take a travel bug, then you DO NOT NEED TO replace it with one. We don't want our TBs to be stranded over the winter! Registering and checking out is done in the log book in the gift shop. Please also remember to do this on-line at www.geocaching.com too. (You can always e-mail the Lodge’s owner for directions if you don’t know how.)

Should the Coldstream Hideaway Lodge Thatched Cottage & Gift Shop show any signs of water damage or need any repairs, please contact the Lodge owners. We want our Travel Bugs to be safe, comfortable and enjoy their stay while in the Coldstream area.
