Park at Big Springs Rappelling parking lot. Walk Big Pine Road to the West look for a white and orange gate to a service road just before a bridge over Big Pine Creek.Follow orange trail blazes past the orange gate. The climb is invigerating but make sure you wear sturdy foot gear. The trail except a short section at the beginning off Big Pine Road is a hardened well maintained trail.
Please be advise this is not a park and grab.Some have called it a challenge but at any rate please do not try this one if you are not prepared to walk up hill. You need to use caution there is wildlife in the area. Poison ivy,ticks,flies,mosquitos and aggressive horses to mention a few inconvienences . This cache has a great view. Small ammo box with various key chains in it including CPR mask key chains. Medallions and other small prizes. You do not have to leave the marked trail (orange blazes)and the trail is no less than five feet wide at any point it has even had improvement to harden it and put in drainage .Please be careful we wouldn't want any one to get injured!!!!!!!!
Note: Heavy tree cover in summer (Dah) but follow the orange blazes.
