Geocache Description:

The group of power stations in this area are worthy of a visit while you are in the high country.

No 3 is the largest of its kind in Australia.
Water is fed to the turbines through above-ground pipes
large enough to drive a double-decker bus through.
The power station did originally have working models (in scale) of both the power station and the Snowy Mountains scheme, an interpretive display.

It was originally open from Friday to Monday with Tours but is now closed to the general public.

The only times it is open now is for VIP visits.

You can then take a drive to the top of Talbingo Dam or over to the Jounama Spillway Gates where the water from the Scheme is released into the Blowering Reservoir and then into the irrigation area.

You can also have a quick detour and look for a nearby cache.
Its now a magnetic mint tin in the only obvious place, which you will see when you are as close as you can get.

Please return it to the same spot or it may be hard for the next team to locate, but please don't leave it exposed.

UPDATE 11/3/19 : I visited on a maintenance trip and have updated the cache and placed a new log book in the new cache.
The original one lasted 13 years + so I'd expect this one should last just as long.
