Geocache Description:

Named for my late terrier-poodle mix and long-time best friend, Lady Portia, this cache will lead you to a great family picnic/playground/fishing area at Prince Gallitzen State Park. It is a very short walk, although you may need to negotiate a small water hazard.

I love Prince Gallitzen State Park, and I’ve been taking my family here several times a year to camp. I was surprised that there was only one cache hidden here. So, I’m placing this cache, as well as Herman and Helen’s Holiday Rambler (which is a much longer multi-cache with more difficult terrain).

The cache is located only about 1000 feet from the edge of the picnic area. Aside from the water hazard, it should be an easy walk. There’s no marked trail, but the flora is thin and there are plenty of game trails.

The container is an ammo box. I’ve placed some (I think) pretty nice prizes and a Travel Bug in this cache to start it off. The first-to-find will have a bonus prize of a custom-made T-Shirt to commemorate the event.
