Geocache Description:

Teviot Valley Walkways - Bullock Track No 1

 This sign is at:

 S45° 31.199
 E169° 17.558

 You can park near the information board  on the Western side of the road or at:

 S45° 31.216
 E169° 17.245

 If you park at the latter, please ensure  that the roads and gateways are kept  clear as there are a number of orchard  staff who use this area.
Alternatively, if you have some sort of "in car" navigation system you can enter 3618 Fruitlands - Roxburgh Road (SH8) as a destination to take you to the roadside signpost.

This is another in the "Teviot Valley Walkway" series.
From this track you get some spectacular views. Up valley you will see the Roxburgh Hydro Dam and Lake Roxburgh. Down valley you will get a bird's eye view of Roxburgh township.
Of course, the higher you climb the more spectacular the vistas.

The Bullock Track reaches above the snowline, but the cache is placed well below, unless we get a rare snowfall, down to below 200m. Walkers must be aware of the wind chill factor at all times and dress accordingly.
This is a walking track only!
If you are fit enough to climb all the way to the top of this track you will get some magnificent views of the Teviot valley.

Be warned, to climb past the cache site to the top of the track is quite demanding, except to the young and fit.

Is that a challenge?.
By far the easiest way to get all of the panoramic views is to get someone to drive you to the top of the track, via Coal Creek, and then walk down.

The cache container is a cylinder, about 500ml, (signature?) and when placed contained:

  • A stash note.
  • A small log book.
  • A pencil & sharpener.
  • A childs' beaded bangle.
  • A penny, Australian -1952.
