Geocache Description:

The site for this cache is an old water well used for many, many years for processing ore at the nearby Kinkaid Mill. Several years ago I was called upon to check out his old well because the State Mine Inspector had deemed it a safety hazard. That was an understatement. This was about the early 1970’s and when I got there the well was running; slinging water everywhere. The wiring and related panels were an electricians nightmare. Every thing was opened and exposed and the 440 volt wiring was simply sizzling. All protection had been bypassed to enable the pump to keep operating. Walking into this now abandoned shed was like walking into a den of rattlesnakes.
Today the area is safe enough with all electrical wiring having been removed but be especially careful if you have small children due to debris and the open well casing; which is to small to present a problem with reasonable care.
The cache is a small medicine bottle with log book and pencil and a $1.00 Sacajawea coin for the first to find and a few small trinkets for trade.
Congratulations to our friends the TopazGeoGoats for FTF
