Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache. The container is NOT hidden at the coordinates listed above.

In honor of my friends and fellow cachers who have spent many a lunch hour in search of an elusive new cache in the neighborhood, I have placed a simple puzzle cache in a local park in West Hanover Township. You should be able to easily locate and retrieve this cache within the span of a lunch hour (provided you first solve the puzzle below).

Lunchtime Logic

One day, five geocachers set out on their lunch hour in search of the latest cache.  Each was successful in independently locating the hide.  Using the information below, can you determine the name of each cacher, the model GPSr they use, their age, number of finds, and the order in which they found the cache?

1.

Carla has the least number of finds with only 64 and the person with the Lowrance iFinder has the 79 finds.  The man who uses the Lowrance iFinder is 70 years old and is the oldest cacher in the group and he also did not finish last.

2.

The 14 year old, who is the youngest, finished after Betty and finished two places ahead of the one who uses the Magellan.  Andy doesn't have a Lowrance iFinder.

3.

David is older than the woman who uses the Garmin Legend but younger than the person who finished first.  Earl didn't finish second.

4.

The person who uses the Magellan is older then the person who has 81 finds, but younger than the person who finished second.

5.

The person with the Garmin Geko has fewer finds than the person who finished last but more finds the person who is 28 years old.

6.

The person with the Garmin Vista has the most finds at 105, but David is only two finds behind her.  Carla is 28 years old.

7.

Two of the cachers celebrated birthdays this month.  One is 36 and the other is 59.

Once you've solved the puzzle, use the information you've learned to assign a number to each of the follow letters:

A

=

The last digit of the age of the person who finished first.

B

=

The position in which the person using the Garmin Legend finished.

C

=

Betty’s finds less the number of finds by the last place finisher.

D

=

The first digit of the Garmin Vista user’s age.

E

=

The first digit in the number of finds by the 36 year old.

F

=

Carla’s finds times Andy's age plus the number of level 4 difficulty hides you've completed, multiplied by the square of two times your age, less 4, divided by the number of finds David made last Tuesday, and then the result multiplied by the cube root of the tangent of 180 degrees unless it's a Friday in which case you should use the square of the cosine of 90 degrees.

G

=

The last digit of Andy’s age.

H

=

Andy’s finds less Earl’s finds plus the position in which Betty finished.

I

=

David’s age less Carla’s Age less the last digit in the number of finds made by the Magellan user.

J

=

The position in which the Garmin Geko user finished.

Lenker Park

This cache used to be a two-stage multicache with a puzzle, but the hiding location of the initial stage (an old water pump) was recently removed by the township. As such, I have decided to convert this to a simple puzzle cache but not relist it since I didn't change the final location.

The cache can be found at: N 40° CF.DJG W 076° HB.EIA

Note: As I discovered when attempting to hide this cache, the park can be quite busy at times.  Please use stealth as necessary and keep an eye out for muggles who may be watching you from any number of directions.  Please be sure to rehide the cache completely out of sight.
