Welcome to Amenia, a small town in eastern ND, with a population just under 100.
In 1880, when the Northern Pacific Railroad established a station, a settlement grew around it. Eban Chaffee, of the Amenia Sharon Land Company, on whose home the station was actualy built, dubbed the new settlement "Amenia". The post office was established on January 20, 1927. The Amenia Sharon Land Co. rigidly controlled Amenia until it disbanded in 1928. Former Gov. Bill Guy grew up in Amenia and still owns famrland in the area which is farmed by his family. The Chaffee family still have property in the Amenia area. Today, Amenia has a city park, a bar and grill, a beauty shop and an elevator. Amenia has a proud past and a bright future.
Cache is a clear rubbermaid container. Original contents: for trade: JD tractor and implements, horses, cows, sheep, dogs and pigs, as well as a WJTB.
