Geocache Description:

Garfield Park II

This cache replaces the original Garfield Park as is now a magnetic keyholder. Garfield Park is the oldest park in Plattsmouth which is named after United States President James A. Garfield, our 20th President who served in 1881. In the early 1900's, visitors used to come and hear the bands play at the Gazebo that was located in the park. The gazebo eventually was torn down because it was neglected and beyond repair. In the early 60's, a wading pool was constructed where the Gazebo once stood. After being used for several years, it too became run down and was later filled in. The gazebo has now been rebuilt in its original design thanks to two cachers know as "Twinstars" and "Lady Bug of Plattsmouth". This was done since the placing the orgiginal Garfield Park cache. It is a must see! There's also some playground equipment and maybe a picnic table or two for all to enjoy. The cache contains the original log sheet from the former Garfield Park cache
