Dunbog means the building on the hill and like it's neighbours this hilltop was a fortified site in the iron age
Once here you can see why, anyone living up here could see for miles and it would have been impossible to enter the area undetected. Today the hilltop is farmed so the cache has been placed in a small area of woodland close to the trig point but protected from the cattle in the surrounding fields. There
is a track starting from N56 19.943, W3 10.687 which will take you all the way so all you boviphopes can relax. If you come in spring or summer you may be lucky enough to see ospreys fishing on Lindores Loch.
