Geocache Description:

Located on the grounds of St. John's Episcopal Church, Chuckatuck which is celebrating its 250th anniversary.

The roots of St. John’s Episcopal Church (Chuckatuck) go back to the earliest English settlements along the Nansemond River nearly 360 years ago. The present building, constructed in 1755, is the third on the site. Its walls are solid brick, 25 inches thick. The center aisle is paved with blocks of limestone from England. The Chancel, installed in the 1880s, has elaborate carvings and wainscoting. The colored glass windows also date from this era. The members of St. John’s are proud to be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the construction of the present building throughout the fall of 2005 and the spring of 2006. "Honoring our History and Serving Christ NOW!"
The cache is a small tupperware container.
