Natividad Creek Park CITO - FREE GEOCOIN! Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

biggeeks: The HUGE amount of bugs that were in this cache are gone, and I think everyone has logged. The final count by return of the natives was about 95 people for this event. And again, I can't stress how IMPRESSED they were the power of geocaching. Thank you all! - BGB

This event is a joint venture with Return of the Natives, RON will be providing all the plants and equipment for planting including gloves. RON also was able to get Whole Foods to provide great snacks, juice and water for this event. All you have to do is put on some clothes you can get dirty and come join the 40 odd (double meaning on odd ) geocachers that have already committed to showing up.

UPDATE 12/2/05 10:30PM
The new tentative plan is to meet up at 10 o’clock @ the posted coordinates. Once it looks like everyone is there who’s coming, we’ll head out as a group down the dirty rec trail, CITO-ing along the way. Eventually (0.75 miles) we’ll arrive at our turn around point where Biggeeks Jen and Luke will be stationed with snacks, water, juice, and geocoins to trade for trash. They’re weird like that . There will also be a dumpster that has been rented for the event stationed at the turn around point.

After the turn around point we can head back to the picnic area to admire everyone’s geo-treasures. This would also be a good time to join the native plant planting that will be going on. I’ll also be bringing an ammo can to load up with TBs and what have you, I’ll place the cache after the event, probably outside the park.

After we're done cleaning and planting, we can all congregate around the food and start telling some lies about our misadventures geocaching. If anyone has any neat geocaching related trinkets or collections, feel free to bring them to show off. I'll be bringing the fabled Illuminati Diamond, the FTF prize from Touchstone's epic Illuminati series.

Non-cachers will also be attending this event under a different announcement by RON which advertised that attendees would be able to learn about geocaching, so please be ready to share your love of our hobby with some newbies.

Please Post the number of individuals in your team that will be attending the event, if you can can make it.

"Can’t wait to see you all there! Look for the 3 geeks in matching CITO shirts…that’ll be some of Team biggeeks! Oh, and don't forget to click on the aerial map I created from Google earth" – Biggeek Ben

Here's what the weather is looking like as of Thursday. At least this is what I found on weatherunderground.com. I know we've got a meteorologist in the CCGC, maybe she'll know better...but RAIN OR SHINE biggeeks will be out there!

12/2/05 Here's a pic of the rec trail from the place where the dumpster will be dropped off:
