Thousands of vehicles a day pass between the two television aerials just off the M8 at Salsburgh, you pass close to one of them now is your chance to see the other one up close.
The 1000 ft high (304.8 metres) aerial at Black Hill transmits all five of the terrestrial channels in analogue and digital plus several radio stations, digital radio stations are transmitted from Kirk O'Shotts (600 ft/183 m) a move which has re-invigorated the site there.
Close to the cache site is Roughrigg Reservoir which looks like a good spot for fishing.
Remember to leave the Motorway at the Shotts turn-off or at Newhouse as the site cannot be reached from the Motorway.
(There are now 2 aerials at Black Hill)

There has been a lot of rubbish dumped at the trail head but it is still negotiable.
