GEOCACHING! - There will be two different “tracks” of caches
hidden specifically for this event. In the downtown area, there are
plans for 16ish temporary caches. You will be able to park your car
at any of the downtown streets or parking lots and walk to this
series of caches and/ or use the free trolley service . Around
Waukesha, plans in the works for a series of temporary only
10-12ish caches based upon the history of the City.
MORNING CHECK IN: between 8:00-10:30 AM at the
coordinates given above. This is the Schuetze Recreation Center,
the hub of activity for the JanBoree event that day. Start your
morning with the official JanBoree Pancake breakfast! (please see
the JanBoree website, link above for details) Trolley service
between the Schuetze building and the downtown area will be
available!
GEOCACHERS MEET & GREET PIZZA BASH 12:00 noon – 2:00
PM at N 43 00.695 W 88 13.885 which is T-Rex Pizza. This is our
official “meet and greet” opportunity! Come meet other Geocachers,
share your geocaching stories, trade those travel bugs and share
your special geocoins here! (This is also an opportunity for those
unable to join us for the morning check in, to also be able to
check in.) If you do not like winter geocaching, you can join us
here!
What is the Waukesha Winter
JanBoree? Celebrating it's 21st year, the Waukesha
JanBoree is a three day winter celebration January 20 to the 22,
2006 showcasing free fun family indoor and outdoor activities
around the city. There will be over 30 events for all ages from
toddlers to seniors including ice sculpting, comedy show, folk
telling to snow showing and tobboganing. As part of the overall
JanBoree event, this is a geocaching event planned by geocachers
for geocachers! As such, details on the geocaching portion of the
event will be posted here. Please see the JanBoree website link
above for details and maps about the overall event.
The Waukesha Winter JanBoree
Geocaching is being planned by
AuntieNae/ Renee Vanselow and The Tapps/ Brian Tapp inconjunction
with Sue Harter, Recreation Supervisor for the City of Waukesha
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
Registration will NOT close! We do ask that
if you are planning to come or might be that you post a will attend
or a note. We do need to give T-Rex a potential lunch count on
Thursday. If your plans change and you had not posted a note, still
come!
To register, please post your plans to attend:
- 1) include number of adults and children
- 2) if you will be checking in during
the morning check in times
- 3) if you will be joining us for the Pizza Meet &
Greet.
This event page will be updated on an as needed basis as plans
come together, any changes will be noted here: Sat, Jan 14 -
registration will not close, updated link to JanBoree information
and updated information on caches planned. Further details should
be posted as plans are firmed up this weekend. Please bring your
camera, we will have a locationless cache that will require you to
post a photo with your log! Thank you
