Located along Channel Road next to Dr. Frank Richardson Wildfowl Preserve.
Locals call the wildfowl preserve Richardson Bog. During the 30's the area was drained and used as a "truck farm." They grew potatoes that were trucked off the farm to market. Years after they stopped farming the drain pipes clogged up and the water reclaimed the fields. The wildlife soon returned to the calm clean freshwater marsh. In warm summers the marsh will dry up some. Bring your binoculars, because it is a great place to bird watch. We placed a large number of new Geocoins to celebrate a family reunion the summer of 2005. The coins include Book Smart, Crevasse Creeper, GeoTraveler, Maren, Schmiddlearth, and Val's Journey. We also started the trip of one Travel Bug called Chief Slide. Good luck to them all, but unfortunately they have all disappeared. The due to the trees and hillside, the GPS coordinates may jump around. Congratulations to "fhsailcoach" being the "First to Find!"
