The Main Car Park has been closed for work to be carried out so you are recommended to use what was the secong parking spot but is now the main parking place.  It is a little longer but is still a nice walk

The idea for this cache started when I met Jonathan Plowe, the woodlands officer for the area. I was planting a cache in College Wood (See A Picture Paints A Thousand Locations - GCQNGB), when Jonathan commented that Geocaching is a great way to get people out into the woods, something the Woodlands Trust encourage.

He mentioned another wood that he manages, that never gets visited he expressed that he was keen for more people to come and enjoy the area. This area is called Holcot Wood!!!

No this isnt the cache!!

Holcot Wood is part of the Reynolds Wood area managed by the Woodlands Trust and is a great place with views of the surrounding areas and the Brogborough Lake. The woods are full of some very interesting old trees; it's a very quiet and peaceful place.

You may see some Buzzards, Muntjac and if you are quiet and lucky some Chinese Water Deer.

This is a great cache to do as a rest stop on the M1, it's less than a mile from junction 13 on the A421. The closest train station to this cache is Ridgmont.

The Sustrans cycle way 51 runs near the woods for cyclists and horse riders. You can reach the woods from Bedford or Milton Keynes using the cycle way. For more information and maps have a look at this web site http://www.sustrans.org.uk

Thanks to Jonathan Plowe from the Woodlands Trust for permission and help in placing this cache.
