“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just over a year and a half, the
quest has grown to over three hundred seventy caches hidden in
thirty-eight Indiana counties, and two Ohio counties, and the
hiders have grown to eighteen cacher teams, most of which of which
are comprised of Dogs and their Humans.
Over 800 cacher teams have logged over 9,300
finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in a single day
(daylight hours only).

SPIRIT QUEST #347
"UNKNOWN TRAVELER"
Welcome to The LaFontaine IOOF cemetery,
in Liberty Township, Wabash County. This is a large place and it
will take you some time to walk it if you choose to do so. Across
the highway is a large Elevator complex, and the cemetery is
flanked by corn fields and another old cemetery across a road. This
place contains a mixture of old tombstones as well as more recent
modern markers...
I had to recreate the description for this
cache page, as the entire text mysteriously vanished during one of
the edits, a result of groundspeaks' brilliant choice of html
editors which is EXTREMEly user unfriendly and rather a joke in the
industry. But there were good reasons, and most hiders don't bother
with html on their pages anyway. Oh, well.
The population of La Fontaine is
approximately 909. The approximate number of families is
354.
La Fontaine is positioned 40.67 degrees
north of the equator and 85.72 degrees west of the prime
meridian.
UNKNOWN
TRAVELER
Many
times you will see a government Civil War marker, with the vet's
wife's marker next to it of the same size and material with similar
engraving. In this case, however, the wife's marker also features
the 'sheild" surrounding her engraving, and this is not approriate
unless she too, was a Veteran, but that is not indicated here.
Somebody goofed.
