Chuck Broke It! Mystery Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
What did Charles 'Chuck' Yeager break? Most West Virginians already
know, but this new monument will welcome you to Lincoln County and
give you the answer plus much more information about the county's
favorite son.

|
The monument is complete and has been dedicated. There is a path
leading up to the monument where there are flags and two benches
but all the information is on the highway side, peculiar. |
At the monument you can find 75% of the information to determine
the values of the following variables. |
| NOTE: there is one variable (dd) that you need to know before
you set out for the cache (see hint). |
- a = number of individual large rectangular marble slabs making
up the monument.
- bb = last two digits of the year Charles Yeager enlisted in the
Army Air Corps.
- cc = last two digits of the year he was selected for pilot
training.
- dd = sum of the three whole digits of the speed of sound in
mph.

The actual cache is 850 feet away at N38 15.abb W081
50.0cc+dd. It is very near the access road that can have a lot
of traffic, especially in the morning and after work, but there is
plenty of room to pull off. Please rehide well. Thanks. |
