An easy cache atop Monte Sano Mountain. Your quest is a small, camouflaged container. Bring a pen/pencil.
This spot commemorates the Monte Sano Railway that transported guests to the luxurious Hotel Monte Sano from the Huntsville Depot in the late 1800's. The hotel opened its doors on June 1, 1887, but closed in the early 1900's due to the declining economy. This commemorative spot and the Old Railroad Bed Trail are visible reminders of these days gone by.
Bring the kids along. The Monte Sano State Park picnic area and playground are nearby.
Please note the cache’s ORIENTATION when retrieving it and replace it in the same way. That way, the next cacher can retrieve it. Do NOT JAM the cache in so that others can't retrieve it!
