Geocache Description:

NOTE: CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. YOU MUST DECIPHER THE COORDINATES FROM THE CLUES LISTED BELOW.

Theobroma Cacao is the botanical name for the evergreen tree which is the source of all cocoa and chocolate products. Literally, the name translates to “food of the gods” - certainly, the Chocolatiers will agree that this is a fitting name. Pods filled with cocoa beans are harvested twice a year from the trees. The beans are dried in the sun and shipped around the world. Then, they are roasted and milled, sugar is added and the entire mass is tempered into chocolate bars.

To find the cache, you must first learn a little bit about high quality chocolate. A little internet research is required as well. The cache is NOT located at the listed coordinates, although you might want to start your search off with a visit there, to satisfy your chocolate cravings before you begin.

Think of this cache as your own cocoa pod, filled with sweet treasures that can be harvested at will. Well, perhaps not in broad daylight. Like the cacao tree, this pod is well shaded and is best sought out in the dark of night, when there is less likelihood of being spotted by geo- muggles.

Here's how to find the cache:
N = A° B.CD
W = E° FG. HI

A = % cocoa product in Guittard Soleil d’Or milk chocolate

B = sum of the numbers in the street address of St. Helena’s most exclusive chocolate shop

C = number of letters in the name of the famous chocolate company in Tain l’Hermitage

D = from the previous clue (C), % cocoa product in that company’s “Extra Bitter” Chocolate. (this is the specific name of the product, not merely its flavor profile....there is only one correct answer...)

E = Age at death of Jeanne Calment, a noted chocoholic

F= Route # in Scarborough ME where you will find Lenny, the Chocolate Moose

G = Visit the website of the Amano chocolate company. One of their fabulous chocolates is made from prized Arriba cocoa beans. Count up the number of letters in the name of the country from which these beans are harvested.

H= # of chapters in the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

I = visit the website of the chocolate company that recently opened a $20 million factory in the Napa Valley...years ago, two of the worlds giants (one French and one Belgian) joined to form this corporation..you will need to look at the Belgian company's website. Click on “chocophilia” to find the answer to this question. How many different species of cocoa trees are there?

It’s a small cache, but there is room for small trade items.

Original cache contents include:
