Geocache Description:

Located a short way south of Lenorah on C3301

The cache is small and there is only room in the cache for a log, so please bring your own pen.

The longest serving Sheriff in the History of the Lone Star State
of Texas was Dan Saunders. He started his law enforcement career as
a DPS officer, then served as Texas Ranger, and finally was Martin
County Sheriff for 40 years. He wrote a book entitled "Trails and
Trials of a Small Town Sheriff".
At the beginning of the book he
told of his being raised near Lenorah. He told of helping his mother dress a child who had died. Then he told about
the "Lenorah Cemetery" located south of Lenorah. The cemetery is south of town on CR 3301. In 1933, a young boy, and a baby girl were buried there and a grown man was buried there later. The man was later moved to another cemetery at Big Spring. Only one grave has a
legible stone.
It surrounded by a chain link fence with gate plus railroad crossties at each corner to protect the fence.
