Coopers Creek Traditional Cache
The Coffee's: It seems this cache area has been affected by nature again and at the moment it is not worth replacing until next spring. I have decided to archive it until later and hope to reinstate it at a later time.
My thanks to all that have logged it.
Regards Mr.Coffee

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is dedicated to our first river crossing and our first camping expedition at this location.
The cache is a camouflaged ammo box.
Coopers Creek can be accessed from three directions – via The Old Walhalla Coach road-Coopers creek track, via The Walhalla road and via The Walhalla Tyers road. Each offers a different degree of difficulty with 2wd access from the Walhalla Tyers road.
Over the last 12 years we have seen many changes to the area as it was once a 4 wheel drive only access. Today it has defined camping areas, toilets and the river crossing has been graded for easier access. In summer this is a popular camping spot usually for trail bikes
Buildings still standing at Coopers Creek include the Coppermine Hotel, now a private residence but once a station for coaches which used to climb the old road up to Happy Go Lucky, before descending to Walhalla. Copper, platinum, silver and limestone were mined at Coopers Creek.
Due to the large amount of campers Please make sure the cache is re-hidden properly before leaving, otherwise it will disappear.
There is a difficulty rating to reflect it location and it is either wet feet or wet tyres.
We hope you enjoy this cache as much as we enjoy our playground.
