Geocache Description:

Caching Philosophy : Quantity or Quality?
We have all seen the debates between numbers cachers and quality cachers. Which is better, lower numbers and interesting locations? A never ending list of caches under lamppost skirts? (Just for you, Sonny.) If you were wondering what my opinion is (since you are still reading, you must be.) , I say both. How many of us would have taken up caching if all we had were magnetic key holders stuck to gaurd rails? How many of us would have kept going after we found every ammo can at all the local parks and nature preserves? The fact is, we need both. On those days that I am short on time, but really need a fix, I head straight for the old washtub in front of a Cracker Barrel somewhere.

I have decided to let you know up front what kind of cache you are looking for. These are my categories so far (I guess a cache could be a combination of these as well.) :

D Destination - Some place that I think you shoud see. Z Puzzle - Work for it a little. N Numbers only - Just to get your numbers up

Why am I here? You'll see when you get there.
The Rules If you want to take 4 TB's and leave 1, that is fine. All I ask is that you leave at least 1TB. That being said, if there is only 1 TB left and you can help it meet it's goal and you dont have a TB to exchange it with, go ahead and take it. Just send me an email letting me know, so I can re-populate the cache.
Notes
  • DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS FROM THE INTERSTATE!
  • There is a small creek crossing, unless there has been heavy rain recently. Then there might be a creek fording.
  • There is some ongoing restoration of this area, but the workers seem to be aware of the cache. I have never ran into the workers, but previous logs mention them. Just be respectful and try to stay out of their way if they are present.

History
Oregonia is an unincorporated community in northwestern Washington Township, Warren County, Ohio, United States, on the east shore of the Little Miami River about five miles northeast of Lebanon and six miles south of Waynesville. The first settlement there was around 1802, where there was a mill operated at various times by Nebo Grant, Ignatius Brown, and David Brown. Around 1820, it was known as Freeport. The Little Miami Railroad reached the village circa 1845. On February 8, 1846, a post office, called Oregon was opened, as there was another Freeport in Ohio. Sometime after the 1880s, the town assumed the name of Oregonia. It continues to have a post office, ZIP code 45054. Oregonia today, is a stop on the Little Miami Bike Trail which follows the former train route along the Little Miami River. Bikers, hikers, and canoers often stop at the market or a restaurant along the trail which follows the river on the former train route. In October of each year, the "Devils Staircase" motorcycle hill climb is held on a hill just south of the main settlement.
