Geocache Description:

Inspired by the scale model solar system at the Museum of Science in Boston, this cache uses the main dome of the Naismith Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts to be a scale model sun. The planet caches are at the appropriate scale distance.

At the scale with the dome of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame being the sun, 140' = 1 million miles, Pluto would be a golfball sized frozen rock, located on average about 100 miles from our scale model sun. Pluto's orbit is very eccentric, bringing it closer to the sun than neptune for a few years in it's 160 year orbit. Pluto's largest moon Charon would be about the size of a grape to our scale. Recent research suggests Pluto may also have two smaller moons. From Pluto, the Sun would look like a very bright "nightime" star.

The cache is a small ammo can, with a log book and the usual trinkets and small goodies.

Note: Poison Ivy reported in the area of the cache!
