Geocache Description:

Waterproof sturdy container hidden in the woods off of Route 5 in Northampton. Not a very easy cache, designed for moderate veteran geocachers. Mixed terrain, study footwear suggested. You may get wet if you don't plot your course well. Averaged GPS 8 minutes.

Hidden in interesting geological area to the northeast of "Hidden Campsite by the Lake". Meant to be a challenge to the seeker. No parking co-ordinates provided for extra challenge.

Starting contents were the logbook, some temporary tatoos, a genuine meteorite from the saharan desert for the first finder. A gyroscope, polished rocks, a fossil, other goodies. A pretty good hike but certainly doable. Don't twist your ankle!

Some natural springs here, also saw several large deer run away. Many animals I am sure. I put this in an area not prone to container thievery, so I hope this site will be here for a long time. Should be winter accessable. I'd say this cache is similar to my "Rocks Rd" in hatfield.

These rocks were transported here during the last Ice Age from Canada and dropped here as the glacier melted. "Glacial erratics" are common in western massachusetts and here there are many.
