A moderate walk with some elevation gain which gives a nice view to the West.
You can park off Old Turnpike Road in Townsend at n42.41.160 w071.44.388....trail starts off next to old railroad track and then climbs about 300 feet to an outlook where the cache is near. The cache is set well back from any steep places on the overlook so you do not have to go look over the edge. No bushwacking is required except for some open woods for the last 70 feet or so. This would make a nice spot for a picnic lunch on a nice day. Total trip in about a mile. Enjoy..May 24, 2006 un muggled the site and moved it slightly to the new coordinates, replaced camera, site is well hidden at this point March 24, 2011 unmuggled site and moved to new near by location. Check out the new cross some one has planted on top of the quarry!! April 13, 2013 replaced cache due to muggling or fire, which ever came first. 4-16 replace cache again, still a nice walk and you can continue a loop north and back down to the main trail you followed in.NOTE...a recent finder had some difficulty replacing it where found and suggests these as new coordinates N 42 41.731 W 71 44.584 .
