You will be on the Walker River Paiute Indian Reservation. Respect the land while visiting.
You can make it to this location easily with 2 wheel drive. There are a couple roads to this site that require 4x4 up steep hills but the easy way will get you here in 2 wheel drive. Stay on dirt roads to within 100 yard of the location. PLEASE stay on dirt roads.
This is our first cache ever placed. Please bring pen or pencil in the event there is no writing device in the box. We started with 2 pencils for writing in the log.
The Walker River flows from the East and West Walker River from the slopes of the eastern Sierra Mountains. Flow is sometimes low or non-existent if we do not have a good snow pack. River ends at Walker Lake.
Best to use Weber Reservoir turnoff from US Highway 95A between Schurz and Yerington. Best to stay on the high roads to the west of the canyon. If have 4x4, there is a road from the bottom of the river canyon to top of hill near cache.
