This cache series is dedicated to my nephews whom I love and who love Thomas the Tank Engine.
The cache is a pad lock protected Ammo Can located along an abandoned stretch of the New Portage Railroad. A few yards from the cache, is one of many old coke ovens that were built along the rail lines. Due to it's condition, I don't recommend that you venture into it.
You can approach this cache one of two ways. The long way would entail a 3.5 mile round trip journey along the old rail bed. This path is also suitable for mountain biking. For the long way, park at: (See coordinates below). For the short approach park at the Inlow's Restaurant.
In order to gain access to the combination, and therefore the cache, you will need to find Thomas' friends each of whom have part of the combination.
The combination to Thomas is: Gordon (GCRDVK) + Harold (GC42AWT) + James (GCRDVN) + Murdoch (GCRDVM).
This series will take you to some very interesting train locations. Take your camera as you will probably get to see some working trains on your adventure! You will at least get to see a few up close.
--Enjoy.
Thomas
Thomas can be described as a cheeky, fussy little engine. He often gets into scrapes, usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. But clouds never last long in Thomas' world and he's soon bustling about again, playing his part in the yard and on his very own branch line, of which he is extremely proud.
Fun Fact
Thomas is based on the London Brighton and South Coast Railway 0-6-0 E2 with extended side tanks.

THANKS LUX!
