Geocache Description:

This cache is at the Carleton Davidson Interpretive Center just outside the main entrance to George Rogers Clark Park on Lower Valley Pike. It is the site of the Battle of Peckuwe fought in August of 1780 between forces led by George Rogers Clark and the Shawnee tribe. Named after a prominent local businessmen and former mayor of Springfield, the Interpretive Center and gift shop are open M-T-Th-F 10-4; Sat. by appointment and is closed on Sundays. It is an interesting place for those who appreciate history. This is the second of the Enon caches placed by the IV Geocache Club. The surrounding ground was a bit soft when we hid it. Please be gentle to the area and replace anything you move. There are two other caches within GRC Park and one just west of here on the surrounding hill if you haven't been here before. You will need to bring your own writing utensil for this one.
Good hunting.
