Geocache Description:

Lacrosse, which the Native People of North America knew under many different names such as Baggataway or Tewaarathon, is the oldest sport in North America and has a history that spans centuries. The game is rooted in Native North American religion. It was often played to resolve conflicts, heal the sick, and develop strong virile people. To the Native People of North America lacrosse is referred to as "The Creator's Game" and known as "The Little Brother of War." Native North American Lacrosse was characterized by deep spiritual involvement. Those who took part did so with a dedicated spirit and the highest ideals of bringing glory and honor to themselves and their tribe.

This cache honors those girls and boys who play that ancient and noble game here in this North Fulton park. (Especially the Goalies!)  If you happen to go to this field when a game is being played, stop a moment to enjoy the oldest of all North American games.

Please Note: You need to bring a pen to sign the log. The park closes at dusk. Some stealth is required.
Congratulations to Dougs94 and Linda for being first-to-find.
