Little Joe was not so little and neither was the ranch this family owned. It's size was fabled as the largest in TV history. They battles the bad guys and managed to always have time for a breakfast or dinner together. When it was all done they gathered as a family then the camera faded to grey.
Beware, depending on where you park there are no gates within a half mile or so, the barbwire fence is there to keep vehicles out not people (As per quoted from the CA Fish and Game office in Sac). You must practice non-destructive methods for crossing it though, perhaps a thick material to avoid any scrapes or scratches. Parking can be found near the corral of Steaks on the Run.
