BikeAnPaddleBunch: Folks I decided to scale back on catches. I don't hit this trail much anymore on my bike or on foot. So this one and River View 1 will be archived. Opening up a spot for someone else to put in a few catches on the North Trail.

Geocache Description:

Come explore a new trail and enjoy some great river views!

A traditional cache on a new trail overlooking the James River. Over the past year several groups have come together to build a new trail on the North side of the river that would enable mountain bikes, runners and hikers to complete a loop using trails on both sides of the river.

To start this cache the Best place to park is at the parking area for Belle Island or Tredegar/Civil War Museum. Just under the Lee Bridge and downstream of the bridge look for a gravel road going uphill and UNDER the Lee bridge. Take this gravel road, look for a wooden bridge, cross it and take a gravel path the follows the remains of a canal. Take this path in the upstream direction and when you come to a fence go around it on the river side of the fence. Then follow the trail. DO NOT use either of the cemetaries to access this cache as you will need to scale fences and go down steep slopes. Take the short hike from the recommended spot as this is the safest parking and safest place to start from. Take the time to enjoy the river views! Proceed to River View 1 cache or to GC5EDC.

Safety - There are some steep slopes here. Watch those kids and yourself. Usual urban social ills in this area, use caution.

Please rehide using logs to keep cache from rolling downhill! Thanks!
