Geocache Description:

This is a great travel bug exchange location on the old road to Bar Harbor.

Boulders that differ from the bedrock beneath are call erratics. This area is a classical example of the type of boulders that were carried here by the glacier and dropped when it stopped. The pile of glacial erratics are interesting to wander around due to their size and how they are piled.

The cache is best reached when headed south on the road to Bar Harbor. The cache is located on a short section of US 1A that was by-passed by the new road. The turn is located at the bottom of a hill just after the golf course. Because this section of the road is no longer use by vacation people it is not a busy road and has good parking near the cache.

This cache can only be logged once, but you can log a note for placing or removing TB's and Coins as often as desired. Please log your TB movements at their respective site then post a note here. That way they won't get messed up. Make sure to sign the logbook and replace the cache to its orginal location for the next person.
