Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are not those of the cache (You have to work for those) Listed coordinates are a near-by access area. The cache is within walking distance. Access does not require overcoming any obstacles, although at times you will be able to enjoy watching arriving or departing aircraft traffic. Plan to be very discrete during your visit.

This is a traditional ammo box cache, originally placed with aircraft-oriented stuff such as an AOPA cap, AOPA membership pin, model airplanes and a Jeep Travel Bug.

Sky King #1 is dedicated to the old Sky King radio and television series which became the longest running television children's show aired between 1951 and 1968. The television version starred Kirby Grant as Sky King and Gloria Winters as his teenage neice, Penny. At the beginning of the series, Sky flew a Cessna T-50 twin-engine "Bamboo Bomber," that was actually owned by Grant, who in real life was a pilot. Later in the series he flew a twin-engine Cessna 310B. The show was considered to be a Western, as King captured the bad guys as well as found lost hikers, etc. using his airplane. Sky's adventures became early life-style models for many children, some of whom grew up to become pilots, as NCBizBroker did. The continuing message of a larger-than-life hero demonstrated that good really could triumph over evil.
