I’ve always enjoyed looking at the stars. I also really enjoy looking at clouds but clouds don’t have anything to do with this puzzle. While creating this puzzle, I remembered a time when I was camping with my old youth group. I was walking around looking at the stars while waiting for someone I was meeting up with. As I was walking around I saw someone lying on a bench by an empty fire pit also looking at the stars. We started talking about the stars and I pointed out a few constellations and a few minutes later the person I was meeting up with came and we left. It was about a year later when I met the person who had been lying on that bench looking at the stars. We started dating and a couple years later got married. Sometime between when we started dating and got married is when we realized we had met a year earlier than we thought.
You don’t have to go looking at the stars to solve this puzzle but I encourage you to do so. This does though, have something to do with three celestial bodies in a gravitational system falling in a straight line. In the case of the earth, sun, and moon, you get an eclipse.
Now let’s go back to the puzzle. The following word contains an unusual letter combination. Fill in the missing letters.
_ YZY _ _
Take the three letters you found and substitute them for a number (A = 01, B = 02....Z = 26). If the number is less than ten, put a zero in front of it. Put those three numbers in a row and you will have a six digit number. Take the first three digits and subtract 80 to get the north decimal minutes. Subtract 338 from the last three digits to find the west decimal minutes.
The container is definitely a micro but should not be too hard to find.
Update 9/2/06: It's been nearly two months since the last find so I added a hint for the puzzle.
