Ah, Gold. Pretty, shiny gold. Gold earned at the highest level of competition - Olympic Gold.

Hometown hero from Bloomingdale, Georgia.

Maybe you never heard of Lucinda Williams Adams (aka Lady Dancer), but she ran for Tennessee State University (Go Tiberbelles!) and represented the United States worldwide.

At one time, she held the American Record for the women's 220-yard dash. She won the 200 meter dash and 400 meter relay in the first US vs. USSR track meet in 1958. She capped a distinguished career with a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics held in Rome. She continues to be an advocate of Sport and Education while residing in Ohio.
