Geocache Description:

Brittle Leaf

Introduction

= = = = =  The Travel Agent  = = = = =

Enjoy the multitude of excellent trails of the Anthony Chabot Park.  Wide smooth trails, grand vistas, easy grades allow you to concentrate on your hike and not the work you have to do.  Get off the main road and take the shaded bicycle trails (I think that is how these single track trails were made originally) that follow the hills in the trees away from the crowd.  This is the fourth of a series of caches I have place along the McDonald trail and it several side trails.  These trails are mostly shaded taking you off the main hard-pack a into the trees.  The McDonald Trail has many great views and some interesting houses to look at along the way.

Location Info

This cache is not at the posted coordinates.

The cache is in the Anthony Chabot Park above the Bort Meadow Staging area parking lot.  These coordinates will take you to this parking area.  N37° 46.664 -- W122° 07.531

There is another way to get to this area if you have already picked up the caches listed below.

If this is your first time in this area, I have placed three other caches along this trail ( Half Way Point, Redwoods, and Puzzle This!).  Pick up these caches along the way to Brittle Leaf.  If you want to make a day of it, drop down into the valley and explore Bort Meadow where I have placed 7 other caches.  Just map this cache to see the others in the area that I have placed.

I am setting up this cache differently.  This is what I'd call a photo cache.  The posted coordinates will take you to a Trail Marker.  See the attached photo.  Your job it to take this trail to a very nice viewing area.  See photo.  You will know you are there when you match up the view with the photo. The cache is within 20 feet of this area.  It is well hidden to prevent muggle damage.
