Ironstone Gully Falls
This cache is located in the Ironstone Gully Falls picnic area midway between Donnybrook and Capel.
Ironstone Gully Falls is on the Capel River (just a small stream, and it was a recreation area for early settlers between 1903 & 1919. Today it is once again a popular recreation site for local people. The Capel River ladies and their families raised the funds to help build the toilet, and volunteers from the Capel River District maintain the area. The area is particularly nice in winter and spring when the wildflowers are out and the stream is flowing, but it is very pleasant anytime.
The picnic area has excellent facilities such as tables, gas barbeques, pit toilets, shade and river water.
