During the Civil War, John D Williams was a Sargent in the 2nd Regiment of the Florida Calvary. In 1896, at the age of 75, he was buried at this site. I have no idea what the terrain and surroundings were over 100 years ago, but now this is in the middle of a national forest. There are no other markers in this fenced cemetery. Rumor has that his mule is buried here also. But there is zero evidence to support the rumor. Mosqutios or yellow flies are likely, but not terrible. The road is fine for a two-wheel drive truck, but roots will cause trouble for a car.
